Request for Payments
To import Real-Time Payments (RTP) Request for Payment (RfP) files to banks, credit unions, or financial institutions using QuickBooks Online (QBO) through SecureQBPlugin, follow these general steps:
1. Setup SecureQBPlugin Integration
- Register and set up the SecureQBPlugin to connect QuickBooks with your bank’s RTP services like FedNow or The Clearing House (RTP).
- Configure the plugin to handle real-time payment requests and ensure that all API settings are correctly linked to both QuickBooks and the bank for smooth processing.
2. Create and Send Invoices
- In QuickBooks, generate digital invoices as usual. Use the SecureQBPlugin to embed a payment link for RTP or FedNow payments within the invoice. This link can either direct the customer to a bank dashboard or a hosted payment page, where they can initiate the payment in real-time.
3. Generate Request for Payment (RfP) Files
- The SecureQBPlugin automatically formats your invoices into ISO 20022 compliant Request for Payment (RfP) files, ensuring they meet the standard required for RTP systems.
- These files are sent either through the bank’s online platform or through the payee’s hosted payment page, depending on how the integration is set up.
4. Customer Payment
- Customers will receive the invoice with an embedded payment link via email or SMS. Upon clicking, they will be directed to a secure page to complete the payment.
- The funds will be transferred instantly, and both you and the customer will receive immediate confirmation of the transaction.
5. Automated Reconciliation in QuickBooks
- Once the payment is made, SecureQBPlugin updates the invoice status in QuickBooks automatically, marking it as paid and reconciling the payment details in real time. This eliminates manual tracking and ensures accurate accounting.
6. Recurring Payments
- For recurring invoices, you can set up a schedule in QuickBooks, and SecureQBPlugin will handle the automatic generation and sending of RfP files at specified intervals, with real-time processing and reconciliation after each payment.
7. Compliance and Security
- SecureQBPlugin ensures that all payments are secure, using industry standards like ISO 20022, and complies with relevant regulations. This setup offers advanced features such as fraud prevention and instant payment notifications.
By utilizing SecureQBPlugin with QuickBooks for RTP and FedNow payments, you streamline the payment process and ensure faster cash flow with less manual effort. It also supports recurring payments and automated reconciliation to make accounting more efficient.
